Overview

The Bopmen Y71

The Bopmen Y71 are a budget friendly set of overear headphones which reproduces reasonable sound and comes with a microphone and offers decent isolation.

For anyone who wants a budget set of headphones for gaming this is probably a good choice, at this price the construction takes a bit of a hit though and there are reports of the annoying losing sound in one ear because of issues with the wires.

If you are looking for a budget friendly gamings headset or even a spare set for emergencies the Bopmen Y71 might be for you. As with all cheap headsets the Bopmen Y71 does come with its reported build quality issues and everything else about the headset is rather average, however at the price rather average turns into pretty good for the price.

For every person who says these headphones dont last beyond 6 months, there are 20 more with the opposite view. Most people aren't as bothered as we are about sound reproduction either so the fact that these are low end boosted is probably fine for most people especially in gaming in which a lot of people love to hear the rumble of explosions and over-emphasize it.

The Bopmen Y71 uses neodynium magnets and aside from the boosted low end for this price the sounds is relatively decent.

Connection wise you have the choice of a 3.5mm or 6.35mm trs jack which means you will be able to connect this to most audio equipment outside of that which uses USB and a detachable microphone.

Again on the microphone the quality isn't amazing, but you cannot be expecting studio level equipment at budget prices for less than 30 quid.

The cable also comes with inline functionality to enable you to easily mute and unmute the microphone whichis really handy not just for gaming but if you used this for any other form of voice communication.

The soft earpads make these relatively comfortable and the foldable design means they can be stored away with ease. Given the potential build quality issues we do not recommend these for travel, but if you are looking for a headset and you are on a budget maybe these are the ones for you?
